Why sculptures? They are a natural extension of Hourani's work over the past 24 years; bringing her sculptures towear into physical bodies of art that extenuates the tension between Raw & refined. And question how much do we need toformat, influence and shape whilst keeping its original appeal in mind? it's a difficult balance of skill, contemplationand most importantly, restraint.
Onda.tude, encompasses fifteen sculptures, with bronze elements created by hand, some mimic wavelengths.others come in the shape of bronze shards, signifying the essence of natures beauty. The rocks used in thiscollection were sourced from around the world incuding teal and red jade, lapis lazuli, malachite, sodalite, blackobisidian, red moss agate, blue chalcedony, and black granite.
